Draytek sets the benchmark with VDSL business router
Network Platforms, a leading South African IT solutions provider and sole distributor of DrayTek product, is pleased to release the DrayTek Vigor 2860 business router Series.
The Vigor 2860 Series is designed to boost developing corporate networks and includes single port modems and solutions to support VDSL and ADSL2 for backwards compatibility, as well as VPN tunnels and LAN ports. The solution is ideally positioned for users who have invested in ADSL and who are looking at a possible upgrade to VDSL at a later stage.
The range also supports IPV6 next generation internet routing and TR069 for remote provisioning, and up to two USB 3G/4G modems can be used.
Global reviewers of the Series have noted its flexibility, particularly its ability to route and load balance any WAN source it connects to.
The Series provides up to 32 simultaneous VPN tunnels (such as IPSec/PPTP/L2TP protocols) for secure data exchange and communication.
With a dedicated VPN co-processor, the hardware encryption of AES/DES/3DES and hardware key hash of SHA-1/MD5 are seamlessly handled, thus maintaining maximum router performance.
The Gigabit Ethernet WAN port caters for any type of Internet access, including ADSL, Cable or Satellite broadband. The solution enables users to engage WAN 1 and WAN 2 for fail-over, ensuring that there will always be access to the internet in the event one of the WAN fails or for load balancing.
The technology also allows selective direction firewall rules of LAN to WAN, WAN to LAN or LAN to VPN. Quality of Service Assurance (QoS) can now be selectively applied to specific users. It also offers up to 200Mb/s firewall throughput.
“DrayTek is a quality brand that is built to integrate seamlessly with core commercial networks and alleviate issues like scalability and latency. We are very proud of the volume of product supplied to date and we are also pleased with positive response from the domestic market. Operators want choice in terms of available solutions; they want to solicit quality products at the best possible price. Our distribution partnership with DrayTek makes this possible,” says Warwick Ward-Cox, MD of Network Platforms,
